123 Challenge

The January challenge at 123 Challenge was:

It took a while for me to work out what to do with this one.  The word Appreciate and the folds scared me, but I love the colour Yellow.  In the end I like how it ended up.  Our previous trips are on my mind at the moment as we get ready to go on another o/s family holiday to Hawaii.  As the girls are now 18 & 20 it will probably be the last big one all together.

Tutti Frutti

Love the January Tutti Frutti mood board from D'lish.  Just love using bright colours.

I used the colours and the sketch as inspiration also added a few buttons.  This is the first layout in a long time where I haven't used any mists or paints - it was very hard not to use them.  DD 18 kept me away from them.  I love the crispness (her word) of the layout.

123 Challenge

Like many others the colour Copper scared me.  I've been thinking about this challenge all month and had decided that it was too hard.  Don't know what happened today but I decided to give it a go and see what I could come up with.  I've used a mixture of brown stains and orange mists to create the background - sort of copperish!!  Also used some very old copper embellies as well as the leaves.  Included stars and the word good.

In the end had a lot of fun creating this one.

Love the sneek for next months challenge - can't wait to see it.

I have included a D'lish flair and Charms oval as my hand made items.

I got stuck on this one and just left it on my desk.  Walked passed it Friday night and just pulled some things out and it magically came together.

here is my layout.  Have used the colours, sketch for inspiration although not happy with how my circle tuned out, and the word Escape (also used it in the journalling).

D'lish July challenge

Love this colour combo -

Black, Red, Kraft & White.  Usually when I use these colours it is on kraft cardstock, but this time I thought I would do it differently and use black cardstock with kraft embelishments.  Have used some bits from the July Just Add Paper kits.

Hubby and I spent a lovely day on the Monday of the June long weekend at Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens, although the weather wasn't co-operating.  Love the uniqueness of these black plants.

I must admit that the colour scheme for this months challenge didn't really inspire me.  Until I had a look at the site again over the weekend after I downloaded some recent photos off my phone.  This one I took of my daughter last week fitted in perfectly.  I love how it turned out. Loved the flower challenge last week at D'lish so the flowers came out again.

I have used all the nominated colours.  There are a number of handmade items - the heart, little crochet doily, the butterfly and the pin and bow.  Love it when you have had things in your stash for a while that you overlook then all of a sudden they are perfect.
